Know the rights of your child! Discrimination is a common phenomenon, whose victims are children with disabilities, mostly in school environment. It is often a silenced or unknown fact.
Attention! Besides the obvious abuse of ignoring the right to the child’s education by verbally denying him access to class, collecting signatures for exclusion or other intimidation tactics, DISCRIMINATION IS ALSO:
– The refusal to adapt the school curriculum to the child’s educational needs
– The refusal to provide teaching means and techniques necessary for the child’s educational needs
– The refusal to provide a support teacher
– The refusal to accept the support teacher in class
– The refusal to evaluate the child strictly according to his educational needs
– The refusal to offer psycho-pedagogical assistance
– The lack of adjustment of tests/ exams/ national examinations according to the pupil’s needs.
