Ms. Turza is a leading advocate for disability rights in Romania, with more than 10 years of experience in inclusive education policy design and analysis, strategic communication, human rights, advocacy, strategic litigation and project management. She currently serves as the president of the European Center for the Rights of Children with Disabilities. Ms. Turza has wide experience managing national advocacy projects, a proven ability to foster grass-roots support for public policy reforms, and to be a spokeswoman for disability rights in the mass media. She is the author of the first national academic research on the special education system in Romania, Isolated Among Us, (2015) and has written several academic articles on the right to inclusive education of children with disabilities. Ms. Turza has a BA in Political Sciences, English Tuition from the University of Bucharest, Romania, a Postgraduate Degree in Inclusive Education Policy and Services – College of Education and Human Development – University of Minnesota (USA) , an LLM in International Humanitarian Law and several post-university specialty training courses in Disability Law, European Anti-Discrimination Law and Communication.
